Nothing beats a trip to the pub whether it’s on the way during an afternoon stroll, to watch the football or to tuck into a hearty homemade dinner – but what if you have to leave your dog at home?

Across North Lincolnshire landlords and ladies are catering for their regulars including pet owners.

The George Inn, Barton upon Humber is the FIRST pub in this region to serve a selection of dog food known as their famous ‘doggy dinners’ from their own bepsoke menu.

These furry customers are welcome in the snug, bar and lounge to enjoy a range of traditional meals from an all day breakfast to Sunday lunch with flavoured cookies for dessert.

Pete believes it is important to allow dogs into pubs. 

He said: “It certainly helps drive footfall into the business.

“Customers love being able to come in have lunch and get lunch for their 4 legged friend too!”

This Inn donates 25% of their profits from this exclusive menu to a range of dog charities as fellow dog rescuers themselves.

Matt and Pauline welcome dogs into The White Bear public house and restaurant, Belton Road Epworth.

By allowing guests to bring their pets they believe they are creating a warm and friendly atmosphere to their pub.

Pauline said: “We welcome dogs small and large and always remember their name.

It is very therapeutic for both staff and customers and is a real ice breaker making people speak to one another when they maybe wouldn’t.”

60% of our social media following argued that they would be less likely to visit a pub or restaurant if they could not take their dogs. For those who agree both the Sutton Arms at Scawby and The Jolly Miller, Wrawby allow dogs into their traditional pubs.

The Chancel, Scunthorpe couldn’t be more dog friendly if they tried with black Labrador Max and Paddy a Collie, Rottweiler cross waiting for you on arrival. Stocked with plenty of treats behind the bar for their visitors there’s no better reason to visit this pub.
